Promoting Inclusive Education
An essential part of Inclusive Cambodia's work so far has been the integration of disabled children into mainstream schooling, yielding significant results. Our education programme offers flexible and individualised lessons that help our beneficiaries keep up with their curriculum and educational milestones. We also work with local teachers and school faculties to make school spaces more accessible, and provide them the skills and tools to cater to the needs of disabled children in their classrooms.
Promoting inclusivity in education and among our peers from the earliest possible moment lays strong foundations for empowerment, participation, personal and community development. Perhaps most importantly, it opens up the world to the minds and talents of its disabled community, a community that can bolster workforces, innovate, create, and change the fortune of an entire country.
“I always feel grateful for the work that Inclusive Cambodia has done. Since Liza first accessed to the services she is making great progress and I’m very happy. I didn’t expect Liza to be able to do much in life because of her disability, so in the past I often stopped her from activities. I can now see with the right therapists and techniques, Liza can do a lot of things especially housework which helps our family a lot and makes me realise that my ideas about disability were not right.”
